As for the general journal being presented in the ”ordered by account” and ”ordered by date”: these are both in the General Journal Search menu.
Once you run the report, you can sort the lines by date (journal) or by account (which I believe is sorted by date within the account). My accountant either lists ”all transactions for one specific account” or ”all transactions for 202x; all accounts” so usually, sorting by date isn’t much of an issue.
I believe that in the General Journal Search search options, you may need to check the ”Account” indicator to add the account to the output. This comes in handy when you decide not to filter for a specific account.
